Harvest Cooking Class
January 6, 2-4 p.m.
The theme for this month’s Harvest Cooking Class is cheese, herbs and spices. Carol Koenig is the chef and pre-registration is required. $30.
Lecture Series: “Apache Voices,” by Sherry Robinson
January 8, 7 p.m.
The presentation includes an overview of Apache history, culture and values. Robinson, an award-winning journalist, is the author of Apache Voices and El Malpais, Mt. Taylor and the Zuni Mountains. Robinson is working on a second Apache book about the Lipan Apaches. Admission is free and the program is co-sponsored by the New Mexico Humanities Council.
Quilting the Past
Grades 5th to 12th
January 24, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Do you enjoy a good story? People have been telling their stories through quilts for centuries. Here is your chance to stitch a small quilt that illustrates your family history. Also learn about the origins of quilting and how quilts are utilized and valued by many different cultures. Materials and tools will be provided but bring your heirloom fabric to add to your quilt. Don’t forget to bring your lunch! (Lunch items are available in the Eagle Ranch Mercantile.) Pre-registration is required. $20.
Living History Saturdays

Interested in traveling back in time? Here’s your opportunity! Come to the museum on Jan. 24 and 31 and visit with a character from New Mexico’s past between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. A different character appears each week, check local listings for details.
